
After being awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2000, Alan MacDiarmid made a trip to New Zealand in 2001. He was awarded the Rutherford Medal of the Royal Society of New Zealand, the country’s premier science and technology award, by Governor General Dame Silvia Cartwright. Here he shows the award to Cartwright after the ceremony.
