Māori health: iwi health organisation

Māori health providers and culturally specific health programmes emerged in the 1980s. Te Tohu o te Ora o Ngati Awa, an iwi-based health and social services provider in Eastern Bay of Plenty, was established in 1989. In the early 2000s Enid Leighton was the organisation's general manager.
