Kōrero: Dishonesty crime

'Pamela'

Image
'Pamela'

This photograph of a model posing as a shoplifter, 'Pamela', was published in the Evening Postin 1987 along with the story of how she fell into a life of crime. 'Pamela' (not her real name) began shoplifting with her friends as a teenager. She got caught by one shopkeeper and although she was not prosecuted word reached her boss, who suggested she resign. Many teenagers flirt with delinquent behaviour such as shoplifting, but stop when they get older.
