Family values march, 2005

An estimated 10,000 members of the Pentecostal churches Destiny, City Impact and Christian Life Centre marched to Myers Park, Auckland, in March 2005 in protest against the legalising of civil unions. Destiny Church leader Bishop Tamaki told the marchers, 'We have had enough of liberal behaviour in this country.' The Civil Union Act was passed in spite of this and other large Pentecostal protests.
