Homes for older people: war veterans

Three blind former servicemen enjoy their pipes on the veranda of the Ranfurly Veterans' Home in Auckland. The home, which was opened by Governor Lord Ranfurly in 1903, was for war veterans, in recognition of their service to the British Empire.
