Teenage mums, 2008

In the 2000s New Zealand had a high teenage birth rate compared to other developed countries. In 2008, 18-year-olds Natalie Jury (left, with son Dontay) and Becca Duffy (with daughter Charlie) studied at the Ministry of Education-funded teen-parent unit in Mt Eden, Auckland. They both said sex-education classes at their previous schools were of poor quality.
