In the general election of 1966 Sonja Davies unsuccessfully contested the Hastings seat. It was generally regarded as unwinnable by the Labour Party, and in addition she had to cope with party squabbles and family illness during the campaign. This photograph shows her electioneering with former Labour leader Walter Nash.
