Hecate Women’s Health Collective opened in Wellington’s Boulcott St in 1979. Shown here are collective members (from left) Jill Carolyn, Tilly Lloyd and Marian Kleist in 1983, with the ‘hot and cold doctor file’. The file recorded women’s experiences with particular doctors. Its consumer’s view of Wellington’s medical services could be used by women to find – or choose to avoid – a doctor.
