Harriet Morison

Harriet Morison

The conditions of women’s work were an enduring concern for Harriet Morison, secretary of the Dunedin Tailoresses' Union from 1891 to 1896. After leaving the union, she worked for the Department of Labour as a factory inspector. In this 1911 photo of staff from the department's Auckland district office, Morison is seated at front left.
