Auckland Hospital staff, 1880s

The staff of Auckland Hospital are shown here in the mid-1880s. Annie Crisp (back row, fifth from left) was appointed as the hospital matron in 1883. She had trained in England, and transformed the hospital by appointing a number of new nurses, whom she managed very effectively.
