Te Paki-o-Matariki (the fine weather of Matariki) was the name given to the Kīngitanga (King movement) newspaper, and also to its coat of arms, pictured here. The central double helix represents the creation of the world. On the left is the figure of Aitua (misfortune), with Te Atuatanga (spirituality) on the right. Above is a Christian cross and the Pleiades constellation, known to Māori as Matariki. This carved coat of arms is on the door of the Māhinārangi meeting house at Tūrangawaewae marae, Ngāruawāhia.
