As well as religious worship, Pacific Island churches provide cultural and social activities for their members. Many churches field teams in sporting codes such as football, bowls and kilikiti (Samoan cricket). This is the Pacific Islanders Congregational Church outdoor basketball (now called netball) team in 1954.
