Kōrero: Anti-racism and Treaty of Waitangi activism

Treaty 2U (2 o 2)

Treaty 2U

In this photo, the specially designed TREATY 2 U trailer-truck stops on the Desert Road with its exhibition on the Treaty of Waitangi. The truck's walls folded out to create an exhibition area with interactive technology and replicas of the nine original Treaty documents. Starting in Taupō in January 2006, the TREATY 2 U exhibition toured 35 towns and cities in that year, and more in later years. The exhibition was sponsored by Archives New Zealand, the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and the National Library of New Zealand, and supported by the State Services Commission’s Treaty Information Unit. A related 'TREATY 2 U' exhibition opened in June 2009 at Te Papa in Wellington.
