Queen Victoria's golden jubilee, Nelson

Queen Victoria's golden jubilee, Nelson

Crowds flock to the streets of Nelson in June 1887 to watch the commemorative parade on Queen Victoria's golden jubilee, the 50th anniversary of her accession to the throne. In the second half of the 19th century New Zealand cities held a considerable number of commemorative occasions when people gathered in the streets.
