Hillside foundry

Hillside foundry

Workers in Dunedin’s Hillside railway workshop's foundry are shown about 1926. The man in a suit (third from right) is the supervisor, S. H. Wellington. At Hillside, while the supervisor dealt with paperwork, the leading hand was generally left to directly supervise workers.
