The Sancta Maria College in Botany Downs, Auckland was opened in 2004. The building is clad in zincalume. Until the 1980s, corrugated iron was still the most common roofing material in New Zealand, but the use of galvanised steel has been substantially superseded by the use of aluminium coated steel products such as zincalume. These are claimed to have better corrosion resistance.
