Building a state house, Tāmaki

A team of builders employed by Fletcher Construction – (from left) J. Morgan, P. Thiebault, J. Lonergan, E. Collett, A McKerchar and K. Kelly – are busy framing up a state house in Tāmaki, Auckland, in 1954. The light wooden frame and tile roof are typical of low-cost suburban houses in this period.
