National development conference, 1972

National development conference, 1972

A series of national development conferences were held in the 1960s and 1970s. These conferences were indicative of the increased importance of manufacturing, and the conclusions reached were sometimes influential. Prominent Manufacturers’ Federation members Fred Turnovsky, J. S. Osborne and L. H. Stevens are shown here at the 1972 conference. Turnovsky and Osborne were also members of the Manufacturing Development Council.
