Department store verandah

Verandahs come into their own in rain storms, providing welcome shelter for pedestrians and making it easier for them to negotiate city streets – without the need to dodge oncoming umbrellas. This is Kirkcaldie and Stains department store’s verandah on Lambton Quay, Wellington, in 2009.
