Te Aute College chapel, 2009

Te Aute College in Central Hawke’s Bay is the best-known Māori secondary school in New Zealand. The school, which was founded by missionary Samuel Williams in 1854, is affiliated with the Anglican Church. The chapel was built in 1900 and is an important local landmark, clearly visible from State Highway 2.
