Norsewear factory and shop

The Norsewear apparel factory is Norsewood’s most prominent business and the brand is known throughout New Zealand. The factory opened in the town in 1969 and all Norsewear garments were manufactured there until 2007, when the business was sold, and some production moved offshore. The factory was purchased by the locally owned Kiwi Sock Company Ltd, which continues to make Norsewear socks, hats, gloves and scarves for domestic and international markets.
