Apprenticeship in trouble

In 1991 these four Wellington building apprentices (left to right: Stewart Rose, Justin Chamberlain, Jason Davey and Jason Hague-Smith) were within a year of becoming tradesmen. They had been facing redundancy due to a decline in the building industry. However, their employer, Fletcher Construction, agreed to donate their labour for a community building project in Wainuiomata, and they were able to finish their apprenticeship.
