Chalkies on their last day

The introduction of screen (computer) trading of shares meant the end of the traditional trading floor. Here, chalkie Elizabeth Head (left) and floor supervisor Margaret Myers toast the last day of floor trading at the Wellington Stock Exchange on 21 June 1991. Their jollity may have been a little forced – both were losing their jobs.
