Visiting the Plunket nurse (1 o 2)

Visiting the Plunket nurse

Suburban life was shaped by gender, work and home. During the week the breadwinner father went off to work and the suburb was the domain of mothers and children. This 1946 image shows mothers and children waiting to see a Plunket (paediatric) nurse at a mobile clinic in a Dunedin hill suburb.
