Milling a kauri log (3 o 3)

Milling a kauri log

The upper and lower circular saw blades in this small sawmill, around 1900, have no guards on them to protect the mill workers. The man in front is adjusting the position of the log while the man at the other end pulls the sawn slabs, or flitches, to one side.
