Tourists feed lambs bottles of milk in front of a display of sheep breeds and dogs at Rotorua’s Agrodome. The Agrodome has been popular with tourists ever since it opened in 1972. Started by champion shearer Godfrey Bowen and farmer George Harford, it demonstrates farming life to tourists. Features include live shearing displays and a pyramid display of live tethered sheep with sheepdogs jumping onto their backs. In the 2000s the Agrodome extended its facilities to cater to the taste for adventure tourism, with activities such as bungy jumping.
