Facing redundancy

Diane Moeke (right) and other workers from the General Motors plant in Petone face being transferred to the Trentham plant or losing their jobs in June 1983. General Motors New Zealand opened a car assembly factory at Petone in 1926. It opened another plant at Trentham in 1967. The Petone plant closed in 1984, and the Trentham plant closed in 1990.
