Christchurch’s historic tram

Trams gradually disappeared from New Zealand cities from the late 1920s, with Wellington’s being the last to go, in 1964. Christchurch’s ended in 1954. But in 1995, the city restored some of its vintage trams and installed a 2.5 kilometre one-way tram circuit in the inner city as a tourist attraction.
