Quick cats

The ‘quick cats’ or catamarans (double-hulled boats) – shown here moored at the Auckland city ferry terminal – were introduced in Auckland in the 1980s. They cut travel time in half, and commuting to work in the city became common from locations as far away as Waiheke Island.
