Schoolgirls learn cookery (2 o 3)

Schoolgirls learn cookery

The blackboard in this cookery class at St Margaret’s College, Christchurch, is headed ‘Rules for Cake-making’. Most of the girls at this private school would have come from families who were able to keep a servant, but learning to cook became part of the school curriculum in the early 20th century.
