An Airbus 340 is coming in to land at Queenstown – but it’s a digital version by the Dunedin firm Animation Research. The firm’s managing director Ian Taylor (second from left) has worked with Andrew Griffith of Airways New Zealand (left) to develop digital versions of commercial airfields, aircraft and weather conditions. The simulators are realistic, right down to rain splashes on the windows of the control towers, and are now sold worldwide.
