Waikato farmer Grant Vercoe and his three-year-old son, Ryan, are well covered from the weather. The rain has come after a drought and is very welcome. As farm mothers increasingly took up paying jobs in town, men responded by doing a little more child care, which they sometimes combined with farm work.
