Trudy the Labrador cross undergoes chemotherapy for a tumour on her upper lip in 2006. Advances in veterinary science make it possible to cure diseases in animals that would once have been untreatable. In this case a cure was unlikely, but it was hoped to give Trudy a few more months of quality life.
