Lusitanica or Mexican cypress looks similar to macrocarpa and is increasingly being grown in the North Island as it is less susceptible to cypress canker. The plant is easily propagated from tip cuttings. These cuttings at a research nursery in Rotorua are ready for planting out in a plantation or farm woodlot.
