Some country towns have sought to appeal to passing motorists by highlighting a special feature which might ‘put them on the map’. Bulls in the Manawatū has made a feature of its name with punning signs. The greengrocer becomes ‘veget-a-bull’, the pub describes itself as ‘full-as-a-bull’, and the medical centre, pictured here, is ‘cure-a-bull’.
