After the Second World War there was a continuing recruitment of migrants from northern England to draw on industrial experience which could be used in New Zealand’s expanding factories. Here, Mary Bowie (left) and Hilda Fisk (centre) are shown around the factory where they will work, by its managing director, B. Levy (right).
