Garden at Norton family house

Image
Garden at Norton family house

Fruit, flowers and vegetables feature in this late 19th-century garden, which belonged to one of the Norton brothers, at the whaling settlement of Te Awaiti, Tory Channel. The garden path is lined with hollyhocks, delphiniums and roses. Gooseberry bushes are planted in neat rows (foreground) and cabbages are growing under the peach tree (obscured, top right).
