Knot garden, Dunedin Botanic Garden

Knot garden, Dunedin Botanic Garden

Knot gardens are laid out in geometrical designs with box or lavender enclosing beds of herbs and aromatic plants. They were popular in Elizabethan England, and this knot garden in the Dunedin Botanic Garden is a replica of Shakespeare’s garden at Stratford-upon-Avon.
