At the dance

At the dance

In the late 19th century and much of the 20th century, dances were occasions where rural women could dress up. The events were often held in rural halls or larger dance halls in rural towns. Woolsheds were also used – especially for small-scale dances in more remote areas. These revellers are at a dance around 1910.
