Kōrero: Farm buildings

These buildings are on the high-country Mesopotamia Station, mid-Canterbury, in the late 1860s when it was owned by the Campbell brothers. The futtah, built by the earlier owner Samuel Butler to store supplies, is the small building visible between the houses. It is on stilts and has wooden steps leading up to the door. A group are playing croquet on the station’s lawn, in the foreground.
