Dipping sheep

Dipping sheep

These sheep are being put through a plunge dip at Ōrari Gorge Station, about 1899. By that time sheep were dipped to control lice and keds rather than scab, but the process and regulations were the same. The man by the dip has a crook he uses to push the sheep completely under the solution.
