About half of the total fertiliser put on farmland each year is applied by a spreader similar to this. A bulk load of fertiliser is carried in a bin on the back of the truck, and a spinner spreads it as the truck drives along. Many contractors now use global positioning technology to help them achieve even spacing across each paddock.
