Trout fishing

An angler on the Waipahi Stream, in South Otago, tightens the line and raises his fly rod, as a brown trout feeding near the surface takes his fly. Brown trout are the most successful of the acclimatised fish species and are found in most waterways in New Zealand – other than those of the northern North Island, as the water temperatures there are too high.
