Kōrero: Hops, tobacco and hemp

Hop vines

Hop vines are trained upwards around twine, which hangs from wires strung between tall posts. If vines are not trained they produce fewer flower cones, and the cones do not all mature at the same time. These plants are growing near Riwaka, Nelson.
