Scion biomaterials research

Biomaterials scientist Ross Anderson shows off bioplastic pellets made with wood fibre, which can be used for a range of construction purposes. One of the major research projects of Scion (formerly the Forest Research Institute) is to develop biomaterials using wood and other plants in combination with synthetics. These are often stronger and more versatile than natural products.
