
This Taranaki gate is being used as part of a modern fence. The gate is stretched between concrete posts, and has a barbed top wire and five plain wires. This gateway is probably used infrequently, so it is cheaper for the farmer to use a Taranaki gate rather than a more expensive one of pipes and wire mesh.
