Kōrero: Farm fencing

Farmers often used whatever material was available to construct fences. This one, on a Southland farm in East Limehills, is an example of a more unusual method. Branches of mānuka and bog pine were cleared off the land before these paddocks were cultivated, and have been piled up to create an effective barrier for stock.
