Student protest

Student protest

In support of its ANZUS partners, New Zealand joined in the Vietnam War in 1965. As the conflict intensified, public opposition grew. In this 1967 protest students march up Molesworth Street past Parliament, carrying a symbolic coffin. They opposed the visit of an American mission to Wellington. The lone figure at the front carries a different message.
