Mission Bay, Auckland, 1890 (2 o 3)

Mission Bay, Auckland, 1890

This photograph shows the distinctive shape of Norfolk Island pines in the Melanesian Mission’s grounds. Bishop Selwyn’s ships often called in at Norfolk Island on the journey from Melanesia and probably brought seeds or young trees on one of the return journeys.
