Modern Pāpāwai

Modern Pāpāwai

This is the restored waharoa (gateway) to Pāpāwai marae and the meeting house Hikurangi in 2006. The marae fell into disrepair in the mid-20th century, but has had a new lease on life, with new buildings being constructed.
